We, the IKC, will be having a weekly NFL pool through PoolHost.com
Similar to years past, it will be a “points spread” pool, and you will need to make your choices for each game prior to the games each week. It will be an overall pool, and run until the game that follows the World Wide Wrap, which takes place on the same day as the Super Bowl LIX: Feb. 9, 2025.
We will split the proceeds, 50% will go to prizes and the other 50% will go to the IKC. The prize pool will be determined by the number of people who are participating. If we get over 36 paid, we will go to a 1st, 2nd and 3rd, with an appropriate prize division.
We’re going to ask each participant to put $18 USD into the pool, to be sent to Allan Gottesman, allangottesman5@gmail.com by PayPal or Zelle. If you want to send a real cheque, by snail mail, get in contact with Allan for his address.
Please make sure that you send your $18 before the first “real” game which takes place Thursday, September 5th.
It should be a lot of fun. PoolHost offers the option of “trash talking” and I know from past experience that the people who either live in, have lived in, were born in or have travel through New Jersey will make exceptional use of that option. The rest of us will be entertained, as always.

The easiest way to join the pool is the first option:

2. Go to the 'Pool Tools' menu and choose 'Join a Private Pool'.

3. To Join the pool you need to enter the Pool ID and Pool Password.

For the Pool ID # type: 94307

For the Pool Password type: GoatsRGood

4. 'Confirm' to join the pool 'Official 5785 IKC Football Pool'

That's it! The next time you login in to http://www.poolhost.com, you can get back to your pool(s) by going to 'Pool Tools' then 'My Pools' where you'll see all the pools you've joined.

Clicking on a pool name will take you to that pool. You can switch to a different pool by going to 'Pool Tools' then 'My Pools' again at any time.

 

 

Before you begin, here are the specific rules:

• Monday Night Football total score points to decide weekly ties
• We allow users to see the games (not the teams) that others have picked before the deadline passes (affects Weekly Results page):
• You must make picks for every game each week from among the available games.
• Spreads provided by PoolHost.com, these may not match the spreads you see online in other places, but we are all going to be working with these spreads, so it’s an equal playing field for everyone.
• WIN = 2 points, TIE = 1 point, LOSS = 0 points
• Our deadline for you final picks is Sunday morning at 9:00 am Eastern time and that is AFTER the kickoff time of the first game of the week, so any games before that can be picked up until the games' kicks-off times.  After a game's kick-off, all picks for that game are revealed and it can't be picked or changed anymore.  The remaining games can be picked or changed up until the custom deadline that you set at which time, all picks are locked and revealed.  You can read more about this HERE.  You can also choose to EXCLUDE the Thursday games from your pool by choosing the option below.
